Rooftop Revolution brings more than eight years of experience in multifunctional rooftop strategies, data-driven opportunity mapping and stakeholder engagement to MultiRoofs. Since 2016, the independent non-profit has worked with governments and building owners to transform underused rooftops into valuable spaces for water retention, biodiversity, renewable energy and healthier urban environments. By combining rooftop data with practical knowledge of financing, decision-making and stakeholder engagement, Rooftop Revolution helps cities move from identifying rooftop potential to turning it into concrete action.
Within MultiRoofs, Rooftop Revolution plays an important role in shaping the strategy behind the Digital Twin, drawing on its experience in developing Rooftop Opportunity Maps and helping local authorities use data to identify and prioritise opportunities. The organisation also contributes its knowledge of property-owner engagement and financial and information-based incentives to help translate the project’s tools into effective pilot actions. Building on its extensive experience with multifunctional rooftop implementation, Rooftop Revolution provides practical guidance to cities throughout the project and contributes to the joint training programme, sharing knowledge on rooftop solutions and their societal costs and benefits. Through its international rooftop network, it also supports the wider dissemination of MultiRoofs, helping public authorities across North-West Europe turn rooftop potential into real-world transformation.
