Dublin City University (DCU) brings strong expertise in data analytics, artificial intelligence, data integration and Digital Twin technologies to MultiRoofs. Through the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and Smart DCU, the university has extensive experience in areas such as machine learning, data modelling and the integration of complex data sources. Building on its existing DCU Digital Twin, which combines live sensor data with digital representations of the campus, DCU brings both advanced technical knowledge and practical experience in developing data-driven solutions for smart urban environments.

Within MultiRoofs, DCU contributes to the development of the Digital Twin, supporting data acquisition, modelling, transformation and the integration of multiple data sources to help identify rooftops suitable for multifunctional use. The DCU campus serves as a real-world testbed, where the project’s Digital Twin solution can be tested and refined using detailed site information. The approach is designed with scalability and replication in mind, allowing solutions developed on campus to potentially be applied to other universities, schools and, ultimately, at city level. DCU also brings its expertise in citizen and stakeholder engagement, supporting the co-creation of solutions that respond to users’ needs and can be widely adopted.
